ABOUT THE GUIDE

The Resilient Homes Fund – Industry Guidance for Flood Resilient Homesresource shares innovative, practical and affordable solutions for adapting Queensland homes to be flood resilient. It is targeted at building industry professionals, state and local authorities, and owners of residential properties in flood prone areas across Queensland. It provides information about reducing the impact of floods on Queensland homes and families, and outlines best-practice flood resilient design principles, strategies, construction details, materials and the expected benefits and costs of flood resilient design.

This guide is based on the Flood Resilient Building Guidance for Queensland Homes (2019) co-authored by JDA Co. and delivered by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority in partnership with Brisbane City Council, Ipswich City Council, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Somerset Regional Council and Seqwater.
